"Last week, on the 8th of June, my partner and I were looking for a local Italian restaurant to satisfy that craving for authentic Italian food. We stumbled upon La Piazzetta in Los Cristianos after finding several encouraging reviews from both locals and tourists. Upon arrival, we easily found a parking space and were warmly greeted by a member of staff who promptly showed us to our table. Our first impression was very positive. The restaurant wasn’t packed to the brim, but it wasn’t empty either, it felt lively without being overcrowded. I think we arrived at just the right time. After browsing the menu, I immediately decided on the Arancini for my starter. For my main course, after some careful consideration, I chose the Carbonara. The Arancini arrived first and was a generously sized portion for the price. It was wonderfully seasoned, with perfectly cooked risotto rice filled with little pieces of ham and peas. It was an excellent starter and set high expectations for the rest of the meal. Before long, the Carbonara was served. To say this was the best Carbonara I’ve ever tasted would be a serious understatement. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and complemented by a rich, creamy sauce that somehow remained surprisingly light. The guanciale was the standout ingredient, crispy yet juicy and packed with flavour. The dish was perfectly seasoned with salt and freshly cracked black pepper, while the Pecorino Romano added a sharp, savoury finish that tied everything together beautifully. By the end of the meal, our bill came to €55.64 for three large drinks, two starters, and two mains, which we felt was extremely reasonable for the quality and quantity of food we received. The following day, we found ourselves craving La Piazzetta again, so we decided to return. This time, I chose the Italian sausage and turnip tops on toasted bread. The sausage was perfectly seasoned, wonderfully juicy, and paired beautifully with the slightly bitter turnip tops. For my main course, I ordered the Carbonara again. I was impressed by the consistency, it was every bit as good as the day before and exactly what I had been craving. For dessert, I chose the Tiramisu, which was served in a generously sized mason jar. I loved every bite and was practically scraping the jar clean by the end. The coffee flavour was strong and bold but perfectly balanced by the creamy mascarpone. It’s very unlike me to revisit the same restaurant while on holiday, but La Piazzetta was a rare exception. The staff were attentive, welcoming, and more than happy to recommend some of their most popular dishes. They took excellent care of us throughout both visits. I would highly recommend La Piazzetta to anyone looking for a classic Italian dining experience in Tenerife. I genuinely have nothing negative to say. 10/10, we’ll definitely be back."
